Itinerary

  1. A different way to taste Normandy

Normandy is known for its apples, but the region is now buzzing: vines are making a comeback, distilleries are innovating beyond Calvados and craft breweries are booming. This tour takes you through all three worlds in a single day. It is led by a driver-guide who trained at the great estates of Muscadet, Saint-Émilion and the Médoc before distilling rum, gin and Calvados. He shares the technical secrets of each drink, from raw ingredient to glass.

  2. Normandy wine: visiting a wine estate

Long forgotten, the vine has returned to Normandy. On a visit to a local estate, discover the grape varieties suited to the Normandy climate, the challenges of northern viticulture and the winemaking methods, before a tasting of still and/or sparkling wines. Your guide helps you understand what sets these wines apart from France's great wine regions.

  3. Spirits: visiting a distillery

From pressing the apples to pot-still distillation and ageing in oak casks, dive into the making of AOC Calvados. Depending on the distillery, the visit may also introduce Normandy's new spirits, such as gin, whisky or liqueurs. Guided tasting: pommeau, Calvados of different ages and the house's own creations.

  4. Beer: visiting a craft brewery

Barley, malt, hops, fermentation: Normandy is now home to many micro-breweries, often working with local ingredients. Tour the facilities, chat with the brewer and taste a selection of beers, from light blondes to bolder, more characterful brews.

  5. Gourmet break in a charming village

To go with the tastings, a stop in a typical Pays d'Auge village, with its half-timbered houses, craft shops and AOP cheeses — perfect pairings for the day's drinks.
